Sunset Beach State Recreation site is one of several Northern
beaches that allows driving on the beach. So if you're looking for a quiet day at the beach, consider driving north to
Fort Stevens or south to Ecola Park, Cannon Beach, and others further south. It is reached by taking the Sunset

The parking lot is located off to the right as you approach the beach. This view from the lot shows the deciduous trees and smaller conifers that are typically in this area. The big pine trees start somewhere between Seaside and Cannon Beach to the south. |
The vegetation in the area |
Sunset Beach Road actually goes all the way to the beach itself. |
