Clay Myers State Natural Area is on the
Sand Lake Recreation Area, which is an estuary of the ocean. This inlet is characterized
by exceptionally flat land - you can literally watch the waterline move as the tide
goes in and out. The ocean itself is visible through a slot in two narrow ridges facing
each other.
Unfortunately, there is an RV area nearby, so you will also hear the
roar of engines along with the roar of the ocean.
